Understanding Our Relationships, Sex and Health Education (RSHE) Curriculum

As a school, our primary aim is to prepare our pupils for a happy, safe, and successful life. A vital part of this is our Relationships, Sex and Health Education (RSHE) curriculum.

Why is this guidance changing?

The Department for Education (DfE) sets statutory guidelines for all schools in England to ensure children receive age-appropriate information about healthy relationships, physical health, mental wellbeing, and staying safe. To ensure our curriculum remains completely up to date with the latest national standards, our Trust working group has refreshed our RSHE policy for the upcoming academic year.

To deliver this vital part of the curriculum, our schools use Jigsaw PSHE - a highly respected, mindful, and age-appropriate program designed to support children’s emotional and social development.

Our Partnership with Parents and Carers

We firmly believe that a successful RSHE curriculum is built on a strong partnership between school and home. While the core themes of the curriculum are set by the government (meaning content cannot be vetoed), your voice matters deeply to us in how we shape, deliver, and support our community through these lessons.

We want you to feel fully informed and confident about what your child is learning. That is why we are opening a two-week consultation period from Monday 6th July to Monday 20th July.

During this time, we invite you to:

  1. Review our updated draft policy.

  2. Explore the overview of the Jigsaw PSHE materials we use in the classroom.

  3. Share your thoughts, questions, or feedback with us via our feedback form [Link to Form].
